The Open Chiplet Economy Progress, Challenges, and the Road Ahead
Anu Ramamurthy, Associate Fellow, Design, Microchip
Jawad Nasrullah, CEO, Palo Alto Electron
Mark Knight, Director of Product Management, Arm
The Open Chiplet Economy (OCE) initiative was established to accelerate adoption of interoperable chiplet-based systems through open collaboration across design, manufacturing, assembly, test, and supply-chain ecosystems. Over the past year, OCE workstreams have advanced efforts in design exchange, system integration methodologies, package assembly, optical communications, D2D interoperability, and ecosystem enablement.
This session provides an update from OCE leadership on key accomplishments, lessons learned, and emerging challenges as the industry transitions toward increasingly modular semiconductor architectures. The discussion will highlight workstream activities, ecosystem participation, and opportunities for broader industry engagement. It will also explore the evolution of chiplet ecosystems from component interoperability toward system-level composability and identify priorities that can help establish a sustainable, scalable open chiplet ecosystem.
