Chiplet Identity and Roots of Trust in FCSA Systems: An Architecture-Agnostic Security View

As chiplet-based system architectures become more common, the security challenge is not only compute performance, but how trust is established, coordinated, and enforced across heterogeneous dies. The OCP FCSA framework defines chiplet classes, interconnect models, and concepts such as system root of trust and chiplet root of trust. Building on this direction, this session discusses an architecture-agnostic, risk-based security view for FCSA systems. In multi-die platforms, traditional single-root assumptions become insufficient: each chiplet may come from a different vendor, process node, and lifecycle domain. We will explore how per-die identity, chiplet roots of trust, hardware-based key derivation, and system-level lifecycle control can provide practical guidance for secure boot, attestation, and inter-chiplet authentication without prescribing a single implementation model.
