Wave Photonics PDKs Now Support Photonic Circuit Simulation in Cadence Spectre
April 27, 2026 -- Wave Photonics PDKs are now fully enabled for photonic circuit simulation in Cadence’s Spectre. Cadence users can now design and simulate photonic circuits directly within their existing workflows using Wave Photonics PDKs
This capability is enabled by our PDK Management Platform. Every PDK developed developed by Wave Photonics or hosted on the platform is
- Packaged with S-parameters
- Integrated into major EDA tools
This makes it easier for designers to access PDKs, design photonic integrated circuits (PICs), and simulate circuits without manual setup.

This video shows how Wave Photonics PDKs are used inside Cadence to simulate photonic circuits, from importing the PDK to running circuit-level simulations.
