Untether AI Appoints New CEO, at ‘Transition Point’
By Sally Ward-Foxton, EETimes (January 5, 2024)
Intel veteran Chris Walker is the new CEO of AI accelerator startup Untether AI—an AI chip startup that’s at a transition point, Walker told EE Times in an exclusive interview.
Former Google and Nvidia executive Amir Salek also recently joined the company’s board of directors. Outgoing CEO Arun Iyengar will continue to support Untether during the transition, the company said, and will move to an advisory role going forward.
“This change is positioning us for the next stage of growth,” Walker told EE Times. “Arun did a tremendous amount for us, growing a silicon company during the pandemic is a huge feat, and this team is super resilient and passionate about the technology. The point we’re at now is about scale, it’s about a new way of delivering technology—not just silicon, but it’s about delivering solutions, and it’s about delivering chiplets.”
Walker served as Untether’s president over the last six months.
